Prevent Leaks and Protect the Hot Mop

To help prevent damage to the hot mop, it should always be completed as close as possible to the tiling work. If you will have other construction traffic around the hot mop it is best to cover it and prevent damage. The most common way to protect the pan is to spread some sand over the hot mop and lay some drywall or plywood over it. We've seen many hot mops damaged by ladders so make sure all workers are extra careful around the hot mop. Damage can be repaired but we do charge to patch and remop when caused by other trades.
